Whole Wheat Pear and Chocolate Pancakes

These whole wheat pear and chocolate pancakes are a delightful twist on traditional pancakes. The sweetness of ripe pears and the richness of chocolate chips make them a perfect breakfast treat.


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

  • 1 ripe pear, diced

  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt


In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg, and melted butter


Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined


Fold in the diced pear and chocolate chips


Heat a griddle or non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease it


Pour 1/4 cup of pancake batter onto the griddle for each pancake


Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown


Serve hot with your favorite toppings
